abstract N-chlorothio carbamates are produced by the reaction of sulfur dichloride and a carbamate having at least one hydrogen substituted on the carbamate nitrogen atom in the presence of a rate determining amount of an acid acceptor. The N-chlorothio carbamates are useful intermediates in the preparation of pesticides.
