ALSO DISCLOSED IS A METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF SUCH COMPOUNDS, WHICH COMPRISES REACTING HYDROGEN WITH A PRECURSOR DIACID HAIDE. THE COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL AS CHEMICAL INTERMEDIATES AND AS ADDITIVES TO IMPROVE THE CLARITY OF PLASTICS, SUCH AS POLYVINYL CHLORIDE FILMS.
