abstract A HYDROPHILIC SYNTHETIC POLYMER HAVING AN EXCELLENT WORKSABILITY AND ESPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR THE PREPARATION OF SOFT CONTACT LENSE, ARTIFICAL CORNERS, AND OPTICAL LENSES FOR MEDICAL USE, AND A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME ESSENTIALLY COMPRISING THE STEPS OF PREPARING A SOLUTION BY EITHER MIXING A 2-HYDROXYETHYL METHACRYLATE MONOMER, A VINCYL ACETATE MONOMER AND A CROSS-LINKING MONOMER, OR MIXING A 2-HYDROYETHYL METHACRYLATE MONOMER, A VINCYL ACETATE MONOMER AND A CROSS-LINKING MONOMER AN N- (1,1-DIHETHYL-3-OXOBUTYL) ACRYLAMIDE, ADDING A CATALYST OR INOTATOR FOR POLYMERIZATION TO SAID SOLUTION INJECTING SAID SOLUTION, AND REMOVAL FROM SAID CO-POLYMERIZATION OF SAID SOLUTION AND COOLING THE COPOLYMER THUS PRODUCED FOR SUBSEQUENTLY REMOVAL FROM SAID MOLD.
