titleOfInvention Determination of radon in air
abstract This invention relates to a device and method for measuring the amount of radon present in the air. A silicon diode detector system operates in helium at atmospheric pressure, and an alpha spectra is obtained that can be analyzed for the radon activity. The invention facilitates radon concentration measurements in the many widely scattered localities in the biosphere where these measurements are of interest, such as in uranium mines, coal mines, and in the lower atmosphere.
