PHOTOCONDUCTIVE COMPOSITION ARE PREPARED FROM NTYPE PHOTOCONDUCTORS, ELECTRON DONATING SENSITIZING DYES AND POLYMERIC BINDERS. THE ELECTRON DONATING SENSITIZNG DYES (1) HAVE A CATHODIC POLARGARPHIC HALF-WAVE POTENTIAL MORE NEGATIVE THAN -1.0 VOLT; (2) HAVE AN ANODIC POLARGRAPHIC HALF-WAVE POTENTIAL AND A CATHODIC HALFWAVE POLARGRAPHIC POTENTIAL WHICH ADDED TOGETHER, GIVE A SUM MORE NEGATIVE THAN 0.00 VOLT; AND (3) DO NOT DESENSITIZE NEGATIVE SILVER BROMOIDIDE EMULSIONS, CONTAINING 99.35 MOLE PERCENT BROMIDE, MORE THAN 0.4 LOG E AT RADIATION OF 365NM. WHEN INCORPORATED THEREIN AT A CONCENTRATION OF 0.2 MILLIMOLE OF DYE PER MOLE OF SILVER HALIDE. THE PHOTOCONDUCTIVE COMPOSITIONS EXHIBIT EXCELLENT SPECTRAL RESPONSE AND HIGH SPEED CHARACTERISTICS. |
