A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING TEREPHTHALIC ACID COMPRISES OCIDIZING PARA-XYLENE IN LIQUID PHASE, RECOVERING THE RESULTING TEREPHTHALIC ACID, CONCENTRATING THE RECOVERED LIQUID PHASE, WASHING THE SAME WITH WATER, SEPARATING THE SOLID BY-PRODUCTS FORM THE LIQUID PHASE AND RECYCLING THE LIQUID PHASE TO THE OXIDATION REACTOR. THE PROCESS MAY BE USED OVER LONG PERIODS WITHOUT A SUBSTANTIAL YIELD DECREASE. |
