abstract | The electrophotographic resin compositions disclosed herein comprise 10-96 mole percent of an acrylate ester having the formula CH2 C(R)COOR'', wherein R is H, CH3 or C2H5 and R'' is an alkyl radical of the formula CnH2n 1 with n equal to 1-20, preferably 1-8; 0-86 mole percent of a vinyl monomer having the formula CH2 C(R'''''')R'''''''' wherein R'''''' is H or CH3 and R'''''''' is an aryl radical of 6-12 carbon atoms, -CN or -OOCR'''''''''' wherein R'''''''''' is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radical of 1-12 carbon atoms; 1-5 mole percent of an acrylic acid and 1-8 mole percent of an acrylamide or polymerizable amine compound. This electrophotographic resin composition is particularly suitable for use as a binder in preparing zinc oxide coatings for paper used in reproducing images with superior speed by an electrophotographic method. |
