A plunger member moves a portion of a plasticized parison in a first direction while exerting a fluid force on the parison for blow molding said parison and then moves the portion of the parison in a second opposed direction while exerting said fluid force for forming a necked portion or protrusion having walls of substantially uniform thickness.
