The antibiotic thiopeptin of the present invention comprising thiopeptins A1, A2, A3, A4 and B is produced by culturing Streptomyces tateyamensis A.T.C.C. 21,389 in an aqueous nutrient medium under submerged aerobic conditions. It exhibits antimicrobial activities against a variety of microorganisms and is useful as an animal feed supplement. |
