This invention relates to the acylation of 17 Beta hydroxysteroids containing an enolizable oxogroup in the A-ring having the general formula I wherein X represents a straight-chain, branched-chain or cyclic acyl group of one to eight carbon atoms or a haloacyl group of one to three carbon atoms, Y represents ethynyl, vinyl, allyl group or an alkyl group of one to four carbon atoms, and Z represents hydrogen group or methyl. |
