abstract The exhaust gas to be monitored is passed through a plurality of adjacently positioned serially connected absorption cells of varied length. A chopper wheel carrying a plurality of spectral filters sequentially passes radiation from a source at discrete wave-lengths each cell in sequence. The amount of radiation absorbed by the gas is detected to determine the concentrations of certain components in the gas.
