BISMONOCARBOXYLIC ESTERS OF 3-FORMYLBUTANEDIOL-1,2 AND THEIR PRODUCTION BY REACTION OF BISMONOCARBOXYLIC ESTERS OF BUTENE-1-DIOL-3,4 WITH CARBON MONOXIDE AND HYDROGEN IN THE PRESENCE OF CARBONYL COMPLEXES OF RHODIUM AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURE AND SUPERATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE.
