abstract THE REACTION MIXTURE FROM HF ALKYLATION OF ISOPARAFFIN WITH AN OLEFIN-ACTING REACTANT IS SEPARATED INTO A HYDROCARBON AND CARALYST PHASES, UNREACTED ISOPARAFFIN FROM THE HYDROCARBON PHASE STRIPS THE CATALYST PHASE TO SEPARATE AN OVERHEAD STREAM OF HYDROCARBONS AND ALKYL FLUORIDES, AND THE STRIPPED LIQUID CATALYST IS THEN PASSED TO THE ALKYLATION REACTION. THE SEPARATED STREAM OF HYDROCARBONS AND ALKYL FLUORIDES MAY BE SUPPLIED TO THE REACTION MIXTURE UNDERGOING PHASE SEPARATION TO RECOVER VALUABLE HYDROCARBONS FROM SAID OVERHEAD STREAM AS A PORTION OF THE ALKYLATE PRODUCT.
