abstract A process is disclosed for the preparation of 5alkylidenenorbornene-2 for use as an important component of EPDM rubber. This product is obtained by the isomerization of 5alkenylnorbornene-2 which is accelerated by the catalytic action of certain complexes. These complexes are formed by combining organic alkalimetal compounds with alkylene diamines.
