AMINO EPOXY PHOSPHONATES, SUCH AS 1-AMINO-2,3-EPOXYPROPYLPHOSPHONATES AND N-SUBSTITUTED DERIVATIVES THEREOF, INCLUDING A POLYPHOSPHONATES AND SILYL PHOSPHONATES, CAN BE HOMOPOLYMERIZED, OR REACTED WITH ACTIVE-HYDROGEN-CONTAINING POLYMERS, SUCH AS CELLULOSE, AND THE SILYL DERIVATIVES CAN BE REACTED WITH GLASS. THESE COMPOUNDS THUS HAVE UTILITY AS FLAME-RETARDANT AND CROSS-LINKING AGENTS FOR CELLULOSE, AS FINISHES FOR GLASS SURFACES, AND AS COUPLING AGENTS FOR GLASS FIBER-THERMOSETTING PLASTIC LAMINATES. |
