A UNIFORM BLEND OF ABOUT 5-95% BY WEIGHT VINYL CHLORIDE POLYMER HAVING A TENSILE MODULUS OF AT LEAST ABOUT 50,000 P.S.I. AND ABOUT 95-5% BY WEIGHT OF AT LEAST ONE THERMOPLASTIC SEGMENTED COPOLYESTER POLYMER CONTAINING (1) ABOUT 5-90 WEIGHT PERCENT LONG CHAIN ESTER UNITS DERIVED FROM AT LEAST ONE LONG CHAIN GLYCOL HAVING LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF ABOUT 600-6000 AND AT LEAST ONE LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT DICARBOXYLIC ACID HAVING A MOLECULAR WEIGHT LESS THAN ABOUT 300, AND (2) ABOUT 10-95 WEIGHT PERCENT SHORT CHAIN ESTER UNITS DERIVED FROM AT LEAST ONE LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT DIOL HAVING A MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF LESS THAN ABOUT 250 AND AT LEAST ONE LOW MOLECULAT WEIGHT DICARBOXYLIC ACIDHAVING A MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF LESS THAN ABOUT 300. THESE BLEND EXHIBIT EXCELLENT ABRASION RESISTANCE WHICH IS MAINTAINED EVEN IN THE PRESENCE OF A LARGE AMOUNT OF PLASTICIZE, IMPROVED LOW TEMPERATURE FLEXIBILITY IMPACT RESISTANCE AND INCREASED SCUFF RESISTANCE. THESE BLENDS ALSO EXHIBIT IMPROVED PROCESSING BECAUSE OF EXCELLENT THERMAL STABILITY AND LOW MELT VISCOSITY. |
