abstract This invention relates to a simple volatilization procedure for the determination of residual solvents in oilseed meals and flours. A sample of meal or flour and water are weighed into a serum bottle. The bottle is sealed and heated in an oven to volatilize the residual solvent. An aliquot of the headspace gas is then analyzed by gas chromatography.
