abstract | N,N''-Alkylenebis(alkoxypyridinecarboxamides) where alkylene has from seven to ten carbon atoms inclusive, having endocrinological properties, are prepared either by reacting an alkylenediamine with an alkoxypyridinecarboxylic acid or stepwise by reacting an alkylenediamine with an hydroxypyridinecarboxylic acid, halogenating the resulting N,N''alkylenebis(hydroxypyridinecarboxamide) to form the corresponding N,N''-alkylenebis(halopyridinecarboxamide) and reacting said halopridinecarboxamide with a metal lower-alkoxide. |
