abstract | 2-(5-Nitro-2-furyl)-, 2-(5-nitro-2-thienyl)-, 2-(2-(5-nitro-2furyl)vinyl)-, and 2-(2-(5-nitro-2-thienyl)vinyl)-4hydrazonomethylthiazoles trypanocidally active compounds are prepared by reacting the corresponding 4-(C1-C7 alkanoyl)thiazole with a hydrazine of the formula: WHEREIN R1 and R2 separately are H, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl, C1-C6 alkoxyalkyl and R1 and R2 together are alkylene, oxaalkylene, thiaalkylene, thiaoxyalkylene, thiadioxyalkylene or azaalkylene bridge. |
