abstract Electrothoretic light image display and/or recording device is disclosed in which an electrophoretic suspension layer is interposed between two electrodes one of which has a photoconductive layer coupled thereto and faced to said electrophoretic suspension layer, said electrophoretic suspension layer including a dispersion of at least one electrophoretic material in a finely divided powder form suspended in a suspending medium so that of optical reflective property of said electrophoretic suspension layer changes with electrophoretic movement of said electrophoretic material upon application of an electric field. A light image is projected on said photoconductive layer so as to reduce the resistivity thereof, and an electric field is applied between said two electrodes during the reduction of the resistivity of said photoconductive layer, whereby a visible image is reproduced on said electrophoretic suspension layer.
