THE BLOCK POLYMER HAS A STRUCTURE ABA, WHEREIN A IS A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER BLOCK OF A VINYL ARENE AND POSSESSES A GLASS TRANSITION TEMPERATURE ABOVE NORMAL ROOM TEMPERATURE AND B IS AN ELASTOMERIC POLYMER BLOCK OF ISOPRENE, AND THE THERMOPLASTIC A BLOCK COMPOSES ABOUT 8-35 PERCENT BY WEIGHT OF THE BLOCK POLYMER.
