titleOfInvention | 4-chloro-5-(2-methylene-butyryl)-benzo(6)thiophene-2-carboxylic acids |
abstract | The production of 5-(2-methylene-alkanoyl)-benzofuran-, 5-(2methylene-alkanoyl)-indole- and 5-(2-methylene-alkanoyl)benzo(b)thiophene-2-carboxylic acids by reaction of the corresponding 5-(2-dimethylaminomethyl-alkanoyl)- derivatives with sodium acetate in the glacial acetic acid and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts with bases, a method of producing a diuretic and saluretic effect in mammals comprising administering said compounds to said mammals and pharmaceutical compositions containing said compounds are described. A typical embodiment is 5-(2-methylene-butyryl)-6-methyl-benzofuran-2carboxylic acid. |
