abstract AN ANTISATATIC ADDITIVE FOR HYDROCARBON FUELS COMPRISING A SYNERGISTIC MIXTURE OF (A) A HYDROCARBYL ACID PHOSPHATE SALT OF A POLYAMIDE HAVING AT LEAST ONE AMINO GROUP AND (B) METAL SALTS OF A MIXTURE OF A NAPHTHENIC ACID AND AN ALKANOIC ACID WHEREIN THE METAL IS A MIXTURE OF A GROUP IIA METAL AND A TRANSITION METAL SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF IRON, COBALT, NICKEL, COPPER, AND ZINC AND, PREFERABLY, A MONOHYDROCARBYL ETHER OF A GLYCOL; AND HYDROCARBON FUEL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAID ANTISTATIC ADDITIVE. THE HYDROCARBON FUEL COMPOSITIONS OF THIS INVENTION COMPRISE A MAJOR PROPORTION OF THE HYDROCARBON FUEL AND A MINOR PROPORTION OF THE ANTISTATIC ADDITIVE. THE PREFERRED HYDROCARBON FUELS ARE DISTILLATE FUELS SUCH AS NO. 1 FUEL, NO. 2 FUEL, DIESEL FUEL, AND TURBINE FUEL.
