A process for the transalkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons of nine carbon atoms which comprises heat contacting the starting feed containing at least one aromatic hydrocarbon of nine carbon atoms as a main component in the presence of hydrogen gas with a catalyst selected from the group consisting of: A.
