abstract A tracer control system employs a plurality of sampling devices for decoding signals representing information relating to the magnitude and direction of deflection of a stylus associated with a tracer head. The signals from the sampling devices are mixed with the outputs of other sampling devices, which outputs are representative of reference signals, to produce control signals to control the drive of the stylus relative to a template.
