THESE COMPOUNDS ARE PHARMACOLOGICAL AGENTS. THE PHENOLS CAN BE PREPARED BY CLEAVAGE OF THE CORRESPONDING LOWER ALKYL, BENZYL, OR SUBSTITUTED BENZYL ETHERS. THE ESTERS CAN BE PREPARED BY ESTERIFICATION OF THE PHENOLS.
