THE ACTIVITY OF A COPPER OXIDE OR COPPER CHROMITE CATALYST DEACTIVATED WHILE BEING USED TO CONVERT A NITRILE TO THE CORRESPONDING AMIDE MAY BE REGENERATED BY OXIDIZING THE USED CATALYST IN AN OXYGEN-CONTAINING GAS AT AN ELEVATED TEMPERATURE AND THEN CONTACTING THE OXIDIZED COPPER OXIDE OR COPPER CHROMITE WITH A REDUCING AGENT SUCH AS HYDROGEN AT AN ELVATED TEMPERATURE. |
