abstract PHENYL AND SUBSITUTED PHENYLSULFONYLALLYL AMINES AND SUBSTITUTED AMINES, E.G., 1-(3 - PHENYLSULFONYLALLYL)-PRYROLIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE, ARE PREPARED BY TREATING A PHENYL OR SUBSTITUTED PHENYLSULFONYL-2-PROPEN-1-OL WITH AN AMINE OR SUBSITUTED AMINE, TREATING THE RESULTING INTERMEDIATE WITH SOCL2 AND THEN WITH SODIUM CARBONATE AND ALLOWING THE RESULTING INTERMEDIATE TO REARRANGE TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THE COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL AS ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AGENTS.
