A SUCROSE-ETHYLENE DIAMINE OLYOL IS PREPARED BY REACTING A MIXTURE OF SUCROSE AND ETHYLENE DIAMINE WITH AN ALKYLENE OXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF A CAUSTIC CATALYST. THE POLYOL IS USED TO PREPARE POLYURETHANE FOAM PRODUCTS HAVING EXCELLENT DIMENSIONAL STABILITY AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES. THE POLYURETHANE FOAMS ARE USED IN PREPARING MOLDED ARTICLES AND AS INSULATION FOR REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, AND THE LIKE. |
