AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE AND AT AN ACID PH OF 3.5-4.5 TO PRODUCE AN AQUEOUS POLYACROLEIN-BISULFITE ADDUCT AND TERMINALLY HEATING THE REACTION MIX BY VACUUM DISTILLATION FOR A SHORT-PERIOD OF TIME TO REMOVE RESIDIUM C5-C8 ALKANE DILUENT AND SO2 AND ADJUSTING THE WATER CONTENT SO THAT THE NOW DISSOLVED POLYACROLEIN (PAC) BISULFITE ADDUCT SOLIDS EQUAL ABOUT 35% OF THE TOTAL.
