titleOfInvention Pyrrolone-anthraquinone polymers
abstract The condensation of an aromatic tetraamine with an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, at least one of which contains an anthraquinone moiety, yields pyrrolone-anthraquinone polymers. These polymers are solubilized by reduction of the quinone function present to the hydroquinone form. Solutions containing the hydroquinone form are wet-spun into fibers, temperaturestable on oxidation back to the quinone form.
