The use of an alcohol solution of a desired flavoring acid such as citric acid to be applied to a sugar-coated core such as chewing gum, nuts, dragees, or confections. The alcohol is evaporated off, leaving the acid flavoring agent as a coating. Thereafter, an additional layer of sugar, shellac, or other similar substance may be applied to the acid-covered core. |
