titleOfInvention | Method of producing colored coatings on aluminum |
abstract | In procedure for producing colored coatings on aluminum by first anodizing the aluminum surface and then treating such anodically coated surface with alternating current in an acidic bath containing metal ions selected from the group consisting of the following cations and anions: Cu , Ag , Pb , and anions consisting of oxygen combined with one of the metals Se, Te and Mn, to produce a colored deposit in the coating, improved coloring results notably in avoiding or inhibiting occurrence of localized nonuniformity, especially with darker or more intense tones, are achieved by maintaining a content of aluminum ions in the bath. |
