titleOfInvention Process for stabilizing polyoxymethylenes
abstract During the stabilization of a polyoxymethylene by means of a carboxylic acid anhydride in a liquid reaction medium, the concentration of monomeric formaldehyde in the vapor phase in equilibrium with the liquid phase is maintained at a value of from 1 to 50 percent (preferably 1-20 percent) by weight, whereby degradation of the polyoxymethylene is substantially reduced.
