THE CYLINDRICAL SHAPE OF THE PUMP PROVIDES INCREASED MECHANICAL STRENGTH AND IMPROVED MAINTENANCE OF DIMENSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS, RESULTING IN UNIFORM HEATING OF THE PUMP WALLS AND CONSEQUENTIAL HIGH IONIZATION EFFICIENCY. TITANIUM RINGS AT EITHER END OF THE PALLADIUM FURTHER IMPROVE PUMP EFFICIENCY.
