ETHYLENE IS CONVERTED TO 3-METHYLPENTENE USING A CATALYST SYSTEM COMPRISING A COMPOUND OF A METAL FROM GROUP 8 OF THE PERIODIC TABLE, A LEWIS ACID COMPOUND OF A METAL FROM GROUP 2 AND/OR 3 OF THE PERIODIC TABLE, AND A LEWIS BASE COMPOUND OF THE ELEMENTS OF GROUP 5 AND/OR 6 OF THE PERIODIC TABEL. THE REACTION PRODUCT CONSISTS ESSENTIALLY OF NORMAL BUTENE AND 3-METHYLPENTENE, 3-METHYLPENTENE IS RECOVERED, AND ALL OR PART OF THE NORMAL BUTENE IS RECYCLED TO THE REACTION ZONE. D R A W I N G |
