abstract DISCLOSED IS A PROCESS OF REGENERATING WHITE PLULING LIQUOR FROM BLACK PULPING LIQUOR. BLACK LIQUOR IS MADE ACID TO LIBERATE HYDROGEN SULFIDE WHICH IS RECOVERED, AND TO PRECIPITATE THE ORGANIC CONTENT WHICH IS SEPARATED FROM A FIRST MOTHER LIQUOR. THE SMELT IS TAKEN UP IN WATER AND THE INSOLUBLE PORTION IS SEPARATED TO LEAVE A SECOND MOTHER LIQUOR. THE TWO MOTHER LIQUORS ARE COMBINED AND RECAUSTICIZED, PRODUCING LIME MUD AND AN AQUEOUS SOLIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION. THE HYDROGEN SULFIDE IS ADDED TO THE LIBERATED SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION TO FORM WHITE PULPING LIQUOR.
