A friction article is a structural part (rather than just a facing) substantially entirely of carbon. The article is made up from sooner or later carbonized filaments which are bonded with an ultimately carbonized resin. For some operational requirements it is appropriate to attach a wearing surface which could be carbon of a different sort or which might not be carbon. |
