abstract Provided are a laminated glass capable of achieving distant projection of a virtual image in a HUD and a large screen and furthermore capable of solving a double image, and a HUD using this laminated glass. The laminated glass includes two glass plates, an intermediate film provided between the two glass plates, and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer has a liquid crystal alignment pattern in which a direction of a molecular axis of the liquid crystal compound changes while continuously rotating along at least one in-plane direction on at least one main surface, and a bright portion and a dark portion derived from a cholesteric liquid crystalline phase in a cross-section, which are observed by a scanning electron microscope, are tilted with respect to the main surfaces.
