abstract Systems and methods for transmitting data in an operative setting are disclosed. A surgical system records data pertaining to a surgical procedure as the procedure is performed. The data is transferred to a portable electronic device, such as a cellular-enabled device, intermittently during the surgical procedure or after the surgical procedure is completed. The cellular-enabled device establishes a connection with a remote database that may be cloud-enabled for storage and analysis of the data.
