abstract | A device for generating an aerosol is provided, including: a heating chamber configured to receive an article including an aerosol-forming substrate configured to form the aerosol, the heating chamber including an upstream end, a downstream end, and first and second major boundary surfaces, the first and the second major boundary surfaces extending in facing parallel relations and defining a principal flow axis for fluid flowing through the heating chamber; a cooling chamber in fluid communication with the heating chamber and a mouthpiece end of the device; and one or more induction coils configured to inductively heat the article and each surrounding the heating chamber, the device being configured such that, in use, fluid flow from the upstream end of the heating chamber to the downstream end of the heating chamber is in a direction substantially parallel to the principal flow axis. Methods for generating an aerosol are also provided. |
