abstract The present invention provides a substance which is useful as a carrier for protein purification. Since an aluminum phosphate compound that is obtained by a method for producing an aluminum phosphate compound, which comprises a step for obtaining a mixture that contains an aluminum phosphate compound by mixing an aqueous solution A containing a phosphate ion with an aqueous solution B containing an aluminum ion and a sulfate ion, and at least one of a potassium ion or a magnesium ion, exhibits excellent protein adsorption properties, this aluminum phosphate compound is useful as a carrier for protein purification.
