abstract An access point may comprise circuitry configured to determine an availability of a 160 mhz channel and circuitry configured to determine a transmission pattern, based at least in part on the availability of the channel. The transmission pattern may by represented by four bits including [1010] and [1001] bit patterns. The AP may further comprise a transmitter configured to indicate the transmission pattern to a plurality of STAs and a receiver configured to receive, from the plurality of STAs, PDUs on a plurality of 20 mhz frequency resources in accordance with the transmission pattern, wherein the STAs are all operating at bandwidths greater than 80 mhz. The bandwidth of the transmission may be 160 mhz.
