abstract Device and method for improved diagnosis and treatment of patients. Detailed coding protocols are instantly assigned to diagnoses and treatment plans created by clinicians based upon initial patient encounter. Past patient records (EHR) can be instantly searched using the assigned codes during the patient encounter, thereby allowing the clinician to make a more complete diagnosis and plan of treatment. The search of past patient records utilizes the assigned codes as a search index thereby filtering out unrelated-non relevant patient medical history. Clinician notations of symptoms and possible diagnosis can be utilized for an expanded correlation to codes of medical code protocols relevant to treatment or tests. This expanded listing of codes can be displayed to the clinician during the patient encounter for evaluation in determining a diagnosis. Correlated medical codes can be disclosed with calculated or past recorded reimbursement information.
