abstract A medical introducer is provided for use in locating an energy delivery probe, such as an RF ablation probe, at a target location in tissue. The introducer includes a proximal hub and an elongate cannula having a distal end and a proximal end, the proximal end connected to the hub. The cannula is formed entirely of an electrically insulating polymer material and includes a tapered distal tip. An RF ablation probe system is also provided that includes an RF ablation probe assembly, a stylet, and the introducer.
