Disclosed are methods and compositions for treatment of a subject having a biliary disorder. The methods include administering a therapeutically effective amount of a serine protease inhibitor to a subject in need thereof. The biliary disorder may include biliary atresia, a biliopathy, Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC), Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), and combinations thereof.
