In such a recombinant yeast strain having xylose-metabolizing ability, the acetaldehyde dehydrogenase gene has been introduced and a gene encoding NADH dehydrogenase involved in reoxidation of cytoplasmic NADH on the mitochondrial outer membrane has been suppressed. |
