A flame-retardant resin composition containing a base resin composed of polyethylene and an acid-modified polyolefin, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, a silicone compound, and a fatty acid-containing compound. The density of the polyethylene may be 912.4 kg/m 3 or less, the amount of polyethylene in the base resin may be of the range 80 to 99% by mass, and the amount of acid-modified polyolefin in the base resin may be of the range 1 to 20% by mass. With respect to 100 parts by mass of the base resin, the calcium carbonate is blended at a proportion of the range 10 to 120 parts by mass, the aluminum hydroxide is blended at a proportion of the range 5 to 150 parts by mass, the silicone compound is blended at a proportion of the range 1.5 to 10 parts by mass, and the fatty acid-containing compound is blended at a proportion of the range 5 to 20 parts by mass. |
