An orthopedic walker having a lower leg support portion and an outer sole having a walking surface that is rounded from a heel strike area to a toe area to promote rolling contact with a ground surface, and lateral arcuate transition portions from the walking surface to the lower leg support portion. The walker is characterized by the outer sole comprised a primary material for structural strength and a structurally distinct and separate secondary material positioned between the heel strike area and a midfoot area for shock absorption, where the secondary material having a different impact response than the primary material. |
