abstract | A method of performing a sinus lift procedure comprising the use of a sidecutting drill as one step in the procedure. The sidecutting drill creates a circumferential lateral cut near the sinus floor, thereby allowing upfracturing of the sinus floor over a greater area than would otherwise be possible absent the circumferential lateral cut. The sidecutting drill includes a tip extending in a planar nonuniform manner from the centerline of said drill with one or more cutting edges located on the extended portion for cutting through tissue. |
